Our membership meetings are currently held bi-monthly on the second Friday of the month at 1 pm.

Location varies and will be noted here as locations are confirmed.

VetOrg Buddy Check

As organizations/individuals serving veterans, we have times when we need a buddy.
Have you ever had a day when you feel overwhelmed by all that’s going on around you? Not just the tasks, but the emotional drain that can come with serving veterans and helping them to heal their emotional wounds and meet their basic needs?

Does serving others feel like a burden some days? Hearing, witnessing the struggles and traumas that people are carrying, can become hard to hold alone. It’s important to take care of yourself so that compassion satisfaction doesn’t become compassion fatigue or grow into secondary trauma for you. (https://www.proqol.org)

The purpose of this gathering is for us to have each other’s back, be there to lighten the emotional load, and support each other in well-being, resilience, and the meaningful work of serving veterans. This is a peer support environment, where we can take turns sharing and supporting each other.

Facilitators and location will be shared roles among attendees for future meetings – these are PEER support gatherings. You can be a “walk-in” or RSVP. Upcoming Meetings: Next meeting is October 30 at Healing Warrior Hearts offices, 10919 W Bluemound Rd #50. Meeting will start at 12:30. You are welcome to get a sandwich at Jimmy John’s (in the same building) and join us anytime after 12noon to eat together. Buddy Check will begin at 12:30. RSVP not required.
